I want a Mac app like Redshift that shifts screen color by time of day or webcam light, with simple settings and no sleep-coaching
The author finds F.lux on the Mac hard to configure and oriented toward telling people to stop using the computer at night. They want a straightforward program that makes the screen less harsh in the evening, even a port of Redshift. Scheduling by time of day or by the light level measured through the webcam would both work, and they would pay for it.

Shifty github.com
Free GPLv3 macOS menu bar app that extends Night Shift with a color temperature slider and custom schedules. It has no webcam light sensing, and it drives Apple's Night Shift rather than Redshift's own method.
nightbar github.com
Menu bar Night Shift controller with a strength slider, a sunset-to-sunrise or custom schedule, and a hotkey. It needs macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon, must be built from source with Xcode tools, uses a private Apple framework, has no stated license, and has no webcam sensing.
Redshift (jonls) github.com
The original Redshift. Its release notes list macOS support through a Quartz gamma method and a CoreLocation provider. It is command-line only, has no polished GUI or webcam sensing, and may be fiddly on current macOS.
