I want a quick way to build a web UI with forms for GET, POST, PATCH and DELETE on my APIs plus browsing Postgres tables for support teams

Answered via Hacker News wanted by patelaayush1810 (HN) original post ↗

The author has more than 15 APIs and several Postgres tables. They want support teams to run requests through generated forms rather than by hand. The UI should also show table contents.

It is done when A support person calls my API endpoints from forms and views Postgres table contents in the browser

Agent note: Found 3 existing tools. One web page cannot do this: A browser-only page cannot connect to Postgres, which needs a server-side connection with credentials. Calling 15+ private APIs from the browser would also depend on each API allowing CORS and on stored credentials.

Already exists

Appsmith github.com

Open-source (Apache-2.0) low-code builder that connects to Postgres and any REST API, so it covers both the API forms and the table views, but you must build each of the 15+ API forms by hand and self-host it or sign up for the cloud (SSO is paid).

ToolJet github.com

Open-source (AGPL-3.0) internal-tool builder with 90+ data sources for REST APIs and databases, so it fits both needs, but you have to self-host or use the cloud and assemble the forms yourself, and its AI app generation is Enterprise-only.

Budibase github.com

Open-source (GPL v3 core) platform for internal apps that integrates with databases and REST APIs, which suits support-team tools, but it needs self-hosting or a cloud account, some features are paid, and the page did not confirm Postgres or REST connectors by name.
