I want a tool that shows git history across files within a chosen dependency distance of a given file, based on code references
Files are neighbors when one uses classes or functions defined in the other. The author wants to find the latest changes near a buggy file, and to measure how large each commit's n-neighborhood is across a release.

Neighborhood Git History
Load a source snapshot (folder or .zip) and a `git log --name-status` dump, then pick a file and N. You get the neighbor files grouped by hop with the linking symbols, the commits that touched them newest first, and a per-commit neighborhood-size table you can export. References are matched by names and import paths, not by types, so results are approximate, and only files in the current snapshot can be neighbors.
